Turkish welded pipe market continues to rise strongly

Export quotations of ERW pipes and hollow sections made from HRC have risen by $70-90/mt compared to the levels of two weeks ago, while export prices of ERW pipes and ERW pipes and hollow sections made from CRC have increased by $120-150/mt overthe same period. Meanwhile, offers to the local market of products of ERW pipes and hollow sections made from HRC have risen by $60-100/mt over the past two weeks, with offers of these products from CRC climbing by $110-160/mt. Market participants have noted that demand from end-users in the local Turkish market has improved, but they are still afrait that such high price levels will not be acceptable to European customers, especially now when Europe is going on its summer holidays.

Export prices of Turkish ERW pipes of 2-6mm wall thickness made from HRC are in the range $610-640/mt FOB, while the prices of square and rectangular hollow sections of 2-6mm wall thickness made to ASTM A500 are at $600-630/mt FOB. Export offers of ERW pipes of 1.5mm wall thickness made from CRC are at thelevel $750-800/mt FOB, with hollow sections at $720/770/mt FOB. Water and gas ERW pipes of 2.0-4.5 mm wall thickness made to EN 10225/DIN 2440 from S235 grade HR products are being offered for export at a minimum of $620/mt FOB.
